DACH channel partner search
We find your agents and distributors across Germany, Austria and Switzerland, run the outreach in German, and facilitate the meetings, all the way to a signed agreement. Built for North American industrial manufacturers.
Your product sells in North America. European inquiries land in your inbox, you answer them in English, and they go quiet. A year later a German competitor with less technology holds the accounts, because they share a language, a trade show circuit, and 30 years of history with the buyer.
The reason is structural. German-speaking industry buys through Handelsvertreter and Fachhändler, commissioned agents and specialist distributors who carry 10 to 20 lines and sell to an installed base they have served for decades. They rarely answer an English cold email. Before they take your call they want to know whether your machine carries CE conformity, whether the documentation exists in German, and who shows up when it breaks on a Tuesday.
We have been selling into German-speaking industry since 2001.
Inmotion Europe has run B2B growth marketing for industrial companies out of Austria for 25 years, with German, Austrian and Swiss industry at the core of it. In 2015 we opened Inmotion USA with a partner in Jacksonville, placing European manufacturers into American sales channels. So when we open a conversation with a German buyer on your behalf, we are working our home market.

The people who write your strategy are the people who make the calls
Most partner searches in Germany end at an address list. Ours ends at a signed agreement.
We run the contact campaign in German, handle the replies on your behalf, book and facilitate the partner meetings, and manage every candidate through to commitment. When you are exhibiting at a German trade show, we build the outreach around it so the right people walk to your stand.
One point of contact. Nobody to hire in Europe, no agency to brief, no CRM to set up. We take it all the way to a signed agreement.
Multi-channel contact in German, and we handle every reply for you.
Online, or in person at a German trade show you are exhibiting at.
Every candidate worked through to a signed commitment.
The preparation that makes German outreach work, all part of the base engagement, built from primary research on your product, your market, and the actual DACH partners who serve it.
Which partner type fits your product (commercial agent, specialist distributor, system integrator, or OEM), whether to treat Germany, Austria and Switzerland as one territory or three, which industrial regions to prioritize, and what to plan for. The document your team and your partners both need to understand the opportunity.
15-20 candidates, tiered by fit. We research 30-40 companies across industry associations, trade fair exhibitor records, the commercial agent registers, and competitor distribution. Each is scored on segment overlap, regional reach, portfolio compatibility, company size, and standing in the trade. You see the scores and the reasoning before any outreach begins.
Written for a German Vertriebsleiter who needs to understand your commercial opportunity in five minutes: what you make, who buys it, why German operators need it, what the margin looks like, and how to position it against what they already carry. Translated copy reads as translated copy, so this is written in German, not converted into it.
Commission structure, territory and exclusivity, lead registration, training and marketing support. Written with the European callouts that catch North American manufacturers off guard: the commercial agent's indemnity claim under §89b HGB, which can cost you up to a year of average commission when you end the relationship, statutory notice periods that grow with the length of the contract, plus where GDPR, CE conformity and EU product liability land on you rather than on your partner.
We analyze your product, map DACH distribution for your category, identify who carries your competitors, and flag the gaps we need your input to close.
Channel strategy first. Once you approve the direction, the partner list, German line card, and commercial terms follow in parallel.
We run the German-language outreach to your approved Tier A and B candidates, book and facilitate the meetings, and take each candidate through to a signed agreement. Included, and we run it end-to-end as your single point of contact.
The phases set the shape. What makes them work is gate discipline.
Gate 1
You return the questionnaire and uploads (datasheets, conformity documentation, pricing). We ask for everything back within a week. Delays here push back the whole timeline.
Gate 2
You approve the partner list and strategy. You review every candidate before a single outreach email goes out.
The base engagement covers research, all four deliverables, and the outreach and meetings through to a signed agreement. Pricing in EUR.
EUR 10,000
Base fee
Covers everything: research, the four deliverables, and our team running the German-language outreach and meetings through to a signed agreement. Split across the two phases, invoiced at kickoff and on delivery of the approved partner list.
EUR 5,000
Success fee
Due only on a signed agreement with a DACH sales partner. No agreement, no success fee.
EUR 15,000
Total maximum
The maximum. Nothing beyond this for the base engagement.
The EUR 5,000 success fee is tied to you signing a partner, so part of what we earn rides on the outcome. The base fee buys a researched, scored shortlist and the team that runs the German outreach and the meetings, instead of another year of English emails that never get answered. We take on a limited number of engagements each quarter, because the same people who write the strategy make the calls.
Close, with one difference that costs money if you miss it. A Handelsvertreter is a self-employed commercial agent who represents several manufacturers on commission and sells to a customer base they already own, much like a US independent rep. The difference is statutory. Under §89b of the German Commercial Code an agent can claim an indemnity when the relationship ends, worth up to one year of their average annual commission, and you cannot contract it away in advance. Notice periods are also fixed by law and lengthen the longer the agreement runs. We write both into the commercial terms so you price them in from the start.
You need a credible path to it, and most serious partners will ask on the first call. A distributor who takes your machine into the EU carries obligations for conformity and product liability, so an unresolved CE question is usually where the conversation ends. We flag what your category requires during research. For machinery that means Directive 2006/42/EC today, and the Machinery Regulation (EU) 2023/1230 for anything you place on the market from 20 January 2027. We don't perform conformity assessment ourselves, and we'll point you at a notified body if you need one.
Usually not to sign a commercial agent or a distributor. Both are independent businesses selling on their own account or on commission. A German entity becomes a question once you employ people locally, hold stock in Europe, or want to invoice in-country. The commercial terms deliverable flags where entity, VAT, customs and export-control questions apply to your specific case, and we refer the incorporation and tax work to specialists rather than pretending to do it.
Use them for what they're good at. A chamber will run an address search or a partner mailing at a published, subsidized rate, and for a first sweep of a market that can be money well spent. What comes back is a list and the replies it generates. What we do starts after that point: primary research on who actually carries your competitors, scoring against your product, then running the conversations in German and working each candidate through to a signature. Different deliverable, different price.
Yes, and we treat them as separate commercial questions rather than as one bloc. Austria often works as an extension of a German partner's territory. Switzerland rarely does: it sits outside the EU customs union, so imports, pricing and documentation work differently, and the buyers reward a partner who is physically present. The channel strategy makes a call on whether you need one partner or three.
Yes, written and spoken, by people who grew up with the language. This is the single biggest reason English-language partner searches in Germany fail. A Vertriebsleiter at a 40-person Fachhandel will simply not answer an English cold email, and a translated one reads as translated within a sentence.
North American industrial hardware: welding and joining, robotics and automation, machine tools, measurement and test, and adjacent categories. If it's a proven physical product sold through agents or distributors, it fits. We don't work with consumer products, pure software, or products without an established home-market customer base.
First partner meetings happen within 90 days of kickoff: roughly 4-6 weeks of research and deliverables, then outreach to your approved shortlist. From first contact to a first order typically takes 6-12 months. German partners take longer to commit than American ones and then stay far longer, which cuts both ways.
Yes. The EUR 10,000 base covers the research and the outreach work whether or not a partner commits, so only the EUR 5,000 success fee is tied to a signature. What you keep is real: the channel strategy, the scored partner list, the German line card, and the commercial terms, plus the worked pipeline. That includes every company we contacted and the record of every conversation, so you can keep working that target group after the engagement ends.
A signed, written commitment from a DACH partner to carry your line, typically an agency agreement (Handelsvertretervertrag), a distribution agreement, or a formal letter of intent. Verbal interest doesn't trigger the fee. A signature does.
Tell us about your product and your European ambitions. A specialist will get back to you within 1 business day.
First meetings within 90 days. Research and deliverables in 4-6 weeks, then we run outreach to your approved shortlist.
The outreach runs in German. Native speakers handle the calls, the emails, and every reply, so nothing reads as translated.
EUR 5,000 tied to results. The success fee is due only on a signed agreement with a partner.
You approve every candidate. Gate 2 means no outreach email goes out until you sign off the scored list.
We built the European market for industrial manufacturers. Two industrial technology companies whose European go-to-market we ran from zero, plus 25 years of the same work for B2B clients across Europe.
No obligation. We'll tell you straight if it's not a fit.
Thanks, we've got it.
